Gridmatic Stretch

The Stretch function is recommended for situations in which the text moves vertically. In these scenarios, the text progressively stretches either upward or downward.

Gridmatic Tilt

Involves progressively tilting characters, making it ideal for animations where text moves horizontally. It can be used either as the text appears or as demonstrated on this page linked to a slider’s scroll function.

Gridmatic Dissolve

Features a dynamic effect where hovering over a character causes its points to scatter in random directions. Instead of relying fully on JavaScript, the font offers four master variants, each with a unique, randomized distribution of points. Depending on the cursor’s position on the character or the progression of the text appearance, the system selects the appropriate variant, creating the illusion that the points are actively following movement or transitioning dynamically as the text emerges.

Gridmatic Grade

Variant allows a letter’s vertical section to gradually thicken. For instance, this can be used so that when a cursor hovers over text, the bolding effect increases in proportion to the cursor’s position. Due to technical constraints, however, the design of the glyphs in this variant has been altered—the connecting elements do not appear gradually with the weight interpolation but are already visible in the light variant.

Multi-Language Support

“Gridmatic” accommodates a diverse range of European languages through an extensive assortment of diacritical forms. Letters with acute, umlaut, ogonek, and other accents ensure proper representation of various alphabets, bridging language barriers without sacrificing the font’s distinct pixel-based look.

Icons and Emoji

Icons are built on the same grid structure as the letters, they integrate seamlessly with text, allowing designers to combine word-based communication with symbolic elements. Each symbol is carefully simplified to maintain legibility even at small sizes, while still evoking a distinctive, retro charm.
